A panorex or a panoramic x-ray is an extra-oral imaging machinery that it is capable of identifying many issues and structures that an intraoral x-ray is not. Our technician will position you at the machine. Once your head is properly positioned, the camera angle arm will rotate around your entire head taking a full 360 degree view of the teeth, head, sinuses and upper and lower jaw bones. This imaging view is used to identify the structural integrity, health, or any abnormality of your lower face and the underlying structures. For example, it can show jaw bone fractures, bone infections, tumors or cancerous lesions in the area as well as the positions of all your teeth including unerupted or impacted teeth like wisdom teeth. We use a digital panorex imaging system.
